The KinAura method

Volume you build yourself

A biostimulator works with your own collagen, which is why the result builds gradually and looks natural. In studies on poly-L-lactic acid, the improvement lasted up to 25 months after the last session.

Always a doctor

Every injection at KinAura is performed by an aesthetic medicine doctor, who chooses product and technique for your face.

Free consultation

Your first consultation is free and includes the Aura 3D scan, which measures the volumes of your face.

At a glance

What is a biostimulator

An injectable the body absorbs slowly and which, as it does, prompts fibroblasts to make new collagen. Facial support comes back from within, little by little.

Filler or biostimulator

Fill or rebuild

When the face loses volume, at KinAura we prefer latest-generation biostimulators to filler: they work on the cause, the collagen that declines with age.

How it works

Two molecules, one goal

Polylactic acid and calcium hydroxylapatite reach collagen along different paths. Choose a molecule to see what happens in the dermis.

PLLA and PDLLA

Microparticles of a biocompatible polymer, the same material used for decades in absorbable surgical devices. In the deep dermis they dissolve slowly into lactic acid and meanwhile activate fibroblasts: a network of new collagen forms around each particle and stays after the product is gone.

85%In a randomised multicentre study, 25 months after the last session more than 85% of patients treated with poly-L-lactic acid were still rated as improved by the evaluating doctors.

Collagen time

What happens, month by month

  1. Today

    The session

The doctor places the product deep in the tissue. Any swelling in the first days settles quickly.

  2. 6 wks

    Collagen starts

Fibroblasts begin producing new fibres. This is when the next session takes place, if planned.

  3. 3 mths

    The result takes shape

Denser skin, better supported cheekbones and jawline. We check it with a new Aura scan.

  4. 25 mths

    It lasts

In studies on poly-L-lactic acid, improvement was measured up to 25 months after the last session.

The products we use

Juläine, Juvelook, Sculptra, Radiesse

Four biostimulators with different molecules and indications. The doctor chooses based on the area, skin thickness and the volume to rebuild.

Poly-L-lactic acid · Sweden

Juläine

The next-generation biostimulator from Swedish company Nordberg Medical: poly-L-lactic acid microspheres with LaSynPro technology. We use it when cheekbones, cheeks and jawline need gradual, even support.

PDLLA + hyaluronic acid · Korea

Juvelook

Made in Korea by Vaim, it combines poly-D,L-lactic acid with non-cross-linked hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid hydrates straight away, PDLLA builds collagen over the following weeks. Ideal for texture, pores, fine lines and acne scars.

Sculptra

The benchmark biostimulator, the one behind the studies that measured results up to 25 months. It works deep on volume and density, usually in two or three sessions six weeks apart.

Calcium hydroxylapatite · Merz

Radiesse

Calcium hydroxylapatite microspheres in a gel. It gives immediate support to cheekbones and jaw and stimulates collagen and elastin over the following months. Diluted, it improves skin quality on the neck, décolletage and hands.

We measure volume in 3D

Aura rebuilds your face and neck in three dimensions. Next-generation imaging, Swiss technology, clinical precision.

  1. 01

    Volumes and proportions

On the 3D model the doctor measures the angles and distances of your face.

  2. 02

    Where support is missing

The map shows where volume has dropped and guides the choice of product and areas.

  3. 03

    Before and after

We repeat the scan and compare volumes on the same map, month after month.

The areas

Where biostimulators work

On the face they rebuild the support lost over the years. On the neck, décolletage and hands they improve skin thickness and quality.

CheekbonesThe anchor of the midface and the first area to hollow. Restoring support here lifts the whole look.

The KinAura protocol

From the scan to follow-up

  1. 01

    Consultation and Aura

The doctor examines you and Aura measures the volumes of your face in 3D. The consultation is free.

  2. 02

    Your plan

Product, areas and number of sessions. If you also need firmness, we add XERF.

  3. 03

    The sessions

Fine needle or microcannula, in one or more sessions four to six weeks apart.

  4. 04

    Follow-up

At two to three months we repeat the Aura scan and check the result on the volumes.

Before and after

What to do, what to avoid

Before the session

  • If you take blood thinners or supplements that thin the blood, such as omega 3 or vitamin E, tell the doctor.
  • Avoid alcohol the evening before: it lowers the risk of small bruises.
  • If you have dental work or an important event coming up, tell the doctor so you can pick the right date.

After the session

  • Mild swelling and a few small bruises can last a few days.
  • For some products, such as Sculptra, the doctor will show you a massage to do at home over the following days.
  • For 48 hours, no intense exercise, sauna or steam room.
  • For two weeks, postpone facial massages and treatments that press on the treated areas.
Biostimulators and XERF

Volume and firmness

Biostimulators rebuild support from within. When the skin has also lost tone, we pair them with XERF, which works on firmness with radiofrequency.

FAQ

What people ask us most

If your question is not here, message us: our reception replies and, when needed, the doctor.

What are collagen biostimulators?

Injectables that the body absorbs slowly and which, in the meantime, prompt fibroblasts to make new collagen. The most used are polylactic acid, such as Juläine, Juvelook and Sculptra, and calcium hydroxylapatite, such as Radiesse.

Biostimulators or filler: what is the difference?

Hyaluronic acid filler fills immediately with a gel and usually lasts 6 to 12 months. A biostimulator works on your own collagen: the result builds gradually over two to three months, looks more natural and with poly-L-lactic acid can last up to two years.

How long do biostimulators last?

With poly-L-lactic acid, studies measured improvement up to 25 months after the last session. With calcium hydroxylapatite a top-up is usually planned between 12 and 18 months.

How many sessions do I need?

One to three, four to six weeks apart. Sculptra is usually done in two or three sessions; the number depends on the product and the volume to rebuild.

When will I see the result?

With Radiesse support is visible straight away and improves over the following months. With polylactic acid the result is gradual and takes shape over two to three months.

What is the difference between Juläine, Juvelook, Sculptra and Radiesse?

Juläine and Sculptra are poly-L-lactic acid and work deep on volume and support. Juvelook combines poly-D,L-lactic acid and hyaluronic acid and is ideal for skin quality. Radiesse is calcium hydroxylapatite: it gives immediate support and, diluted, improves the neck, décolletage and hands.

Will it look natural?

Yes. The volume comes from your own collagen and grows gradually, so your face stays yours and nobody notices a sudden change.

Does it hurt?

The doctor uses a fine needle or a microcannula and, when needed, local anaesthetic. It is well tolerated and you can go straight back to your day.

What should I do after the session?

Mild swelling and a few small bruises can last a few days. For some products, such as Sculptra, the doctor will show you a massage to do at home. Avoid intense exercise, sauna and steam room for 48 hours.

Can they be combined with XERF?

Yes. Biostimulators rebuild volume, XERF works on skin firmness: when you need both we include them in the same plan.

Which areas can be treated?

Cheekbones, cheeks, jawline and temples. On the neck, décolletage and hands they improve skin thickness and quality.

How much do biostimulators cost?

It depends on the product, the areas and the number of sessions. You receive the full plan in clinic before starting.

Do I need a consultation first?

You can book the treatment or a consultation. The consultation is free and includes the Aura 3D scan, which measures the volumes of your face.
