Alexandrite laser hair removal in Milan
Performed by doctors with alexandrite and Nd:YAG lasers, suitable for tanned skin and with no gel. Your result is guaranteed for two years.
Results guaranteed for two years
If hair grows back within two years of finishing your protocol, we give you more sessions, beyond the ones originally planned. Guarantee sessions are free of charge.
Tanned skin welcome
With the 1064 nm wavelength the doctor treats fair and tanned skin alike. There is no need to wait for the end of summer.
No gel
A burst of cryogen cooling comes with every pulse. No cold gel to spread and wipe off, so the session is quicker and more comfortable.
What medical laser hair removal is
A lasting reduction of hair achieved with laser pulses, alexandrite at 755 nm or Nd:YAG at 1064 nm, that heat the follicle and switch off its ability to grow a new hair. At KinAura it is always performed by a doctor.
- Sessions 6–8
- On average, 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the area.
- Duration 10–20min
- For the most requested areas. Full legs and back take longer.
- Guarantee 2years
- If hair grows back, the extra sessions are free.
- Skin I–VI
- Fair, dark or tanned, always without gel.
Alexandrite and Nd:YAG, two wavelengths
Laser light seeks out melanin, the pigment in hair. The aim is to reach the melanin in the bulb while leaving the melanin in the skin cool.
At 755 nm, the wavelength of the alexandrite laser, melanin absorbs the energy strongly, which makes it the most effective choice on fair skin. At 1064 nm, the Nd:YAG wavelength, the light travels deeper and passes through the melanin in the skin with a lower risk of pigment changes, which makes it the safe choice on dark or olive skin.

Why it takes several sessions
The laser works on hair in its growth phase, called anagen, while the hair is still attached to the bulb. At any given moment only part of your follicles are in this phase and the rest are resting.
That is why sessions are spaced weeks apart: each time the doctor reaches the follicles that have entered the growth phase in the meantime. The cycle is shorter on the face and longer on legs and back, so the intervals change accordingly.
From consultation to guarantee
- 01
Medical consultation
Skin and hair assessment, medical history, current medication. The doctor sets the areas, the number of sessions and the schedule. The consultation is free.
- 02
First session
Wavelength, energy and pulse duration are set on your skin type and on the thickness of the hair in each area.
- 03
Follow-up sessions
Every 4 to 8 weeks. At each visit the doctor checks how your skin and hair respond and adjusts the settings.
- 04
Two-year guarantee
After your last session, if hair grows back within two years we give you more sessions free of charge, beyond the number originally planned.
How to prepare, how to follow up
Before your session
- Shave the area the day before. The hair below the surface matters, because it carries the heat down to the bulb.
- No waxing, tweezing or epilators in the previous 4 weeks.
- No self-tanner in the days before. Skin tanned by the sun can be treated.
- Come with clean skin, with no cream or deodorant on the area.
After your session
- Mild redness and a few small bumps around the follicles are normal and fade within hours.
- High SPF sunscreen on exposed areas in the following days.
- No sauna, steam room or intense exercise for 24 to 48 hours.
- Over the next two weeks the treated hairs shed on their own. Do not pull them out.

What people ask us most
If your question is not here, write to us. Our reception will reply and book you in with the doctor.
Is laser hair removal permanent?
The laser gives a stable, long-lasting reduction of the treated hair, and at KinAura the result is guaranteed for two years: if hair grows back in that period, we give you more sessions free of charge, beyond the ones originally planned.
Alexandrite or diode laser?
On fair and medium skin with dark hair, alexandrite comes out ahead. In a comparison study of 75 patients it gave the highest result of the three lasers: mean hair reduction of 65.6%, against 46.9% for diode and 42.4% for Nd:YAG. At 755 nm the light is absorbed by hair melanin more than diode light (800 to 810 nm). On dark or tanned skin the safe choice is Nd:YAG, and Clarity II has both.
Does it hurt?
You feel a quick flash of heat, like a rubber band snapping on the skin. Cryogen cooling with every pulse protects the surface and replaces gel, which makes the session more comfortable than traditional hair removal.
Does it work on dark or tanned skin?
Yes. With the 1064 nm wavelength the doctor treats fair, dark and tanned skin, because the light passes through the melanin in the skin and concentrates in the hair bulb.
How many sessions do I need?
On average 6 to 8, every 4 to 8 weeks. Face and body have different intervals because the hair cycle differs. The doctor sets the exact number after the consultation.
Can I have it done in summer?
Yes, even with tanned skin. After the session, high SPF sunscreen on exposed areas is all you need.
Is it suitable for men?
Yes: back, shoulders, chest, neck and beard. The 1064 nm laser is also used for pseudofolliculitis barbae, the ingrown hairs that follow shaving.
How much does alexandrite laser hair removal cost?
It depends on the areas and the number of sessions. At the free consultation the doctor sets your protocol and gives you the full plan.
